Improving Belsh Municipality integrated services for sustainable tourism

Financed fund: 45,928,164 All (401.470 Euro equivalent)

Specific objectives:

- To contribute to the long-term national sustainable tourism development, reaching a balance among environmental, economic, and socio-cultural aspects;

- To encourage active tourism by developing appropriate, modern and safe infrastructure and facilities, that will allow to support a well-integrated touristic promotion and competitive tourism and hospitality services able to foster the employment inclusion of women and youth.

Main activities:
- Rehabilitation of the Multifunctional Tourism Tower equipped with an Info Point, a Mini Museum and a One Stop Shop Café and a small parking lot for the first stop of tourists’ busses and vehicles;

- Creation of walking, riding and other adventure sports itineraries as well as cultural routes in Belsh Municipality;

- Enriching the touristic equipment inventory of the touristic info point for a better exploring of natures and culture in Belsh area;

- Attending two national and regional tourism fairs in cooperation with Albanian National Agency for tourism and tourism-related SMEs from the Belsh region;

- Education and information campaign for youth students on environment and heritage protection and valorisation;

- Need assessment and Training for tourism and hospitality service providers on online marketing and promotion of local products/services, for existing certified outdoor activity guides and/or tour guides in culture and history as well as youth.
