“Setting-up a management model for combatting the processionaria disease”

Financed fund: 41,498,600 All (362.750 Euro Equivalent)

Specific objectives:
 

- To safeguard the restoration, protection, integrity and bio-diversity of forests in Albania;
 

- To develop and test a model of contrast to the processionaria disease in 3 selected Municipalities (Fushe Arrez, Bulqize e Gjinar).

Main activities:
 

- Baseline verification: effective area to be selected, number of trees with processionaria, laboratory analyses;
 

- Protocols: set up of anti-processionaria Operational Protocols;

- Set up of a University Traineeship curriculum;

- Field lab: Set up of a anti-processionaria field laboratory and improvement of central laboratory at UBT;

- Implementation of anti-processionaria measures;

- Monitoring system: Set up of a monitoring system for combating processionaria.
